Robert Cato

Robert Cato grew up enjoying the coastal outdoors surfing, fishing and camping in Central Florida. After graduating with a degree in Economics from the University of Florida, he held positions in both corporate finance and restaurant management. Unable to escape his true passions for food and social justice, Rob joined Zenger Farm, a Portland urban farm that models, promotes, and educates about sustainable food systems, environmental stewardship, community development and access to good food for all. In addition to serving as SJF board treasurer, Rob currently serves as the vice-chair of Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon, an organization helping to ensure equal access to nutritious, culturally appropriate foods statewide. As a self proclaimed anti-capitalist-social-justice-money-person, Rob seeks to use financial tools and analysis to redistribute power and wealth to grassroots community organizations. Rob’s favorite karaoke jam is “Ordinary People” by John Legend.
