Social Justice Fund NW is excited to share the fundraising and grants that resulted from the work of 67 Giving Project members across three Giving Projects: the Black Led Organizing Giving Project, the Environmental Justice Giving Project and the Gender Justice Giving Project.
These three projects combined were able to raise nearly $1 million funding 41 grassroots organizations across the Northwest. This total includes matching grants from Satterberg Foundation, Northwest Areas Fund, and alumni donors. In the following weeks, we will be sharing more about each Giving Project, but here’s the overview of the outstanding work by SJF donor organizers.

Black Led Organizing Giving Project

The Black Led Organizing Giving Project is a groundbreaking project for SJF and consisted of 18 amazing community members living in Seattle. The all-Black Giving Project raised $324,528 from 240 unique donors to fund organizations led by and organizing Black communities in the Northwest.
The group site visited 15 organizations and made two-year grants of approximately $21,000 to 14 organizations. See grantees below.

Environmental Justice Giving Project

The Environmental Justice Giving Project consisted of 24 amazing community members living in Seattle. They raised $418,208 from 334 donors.
The group site visited 16 organizations and made two-year grants of approximately $24,000 to 15 organizations. See grantees below.

Gender Justice Giving Project

The Gender Justice Giving Project consisted of 25 amazing community members living in Portland. The project raised $288,258 from 147 donors.
The group site visited 15 organizations and made 12 two-year grants ranging from $20,000-$23,000. See grantees below.
