SJF’s Annual Celebration 2020
Things are looking a little different this year, but we can’t wait to party with you! We’ve expanded our annual celebration to include three events:
- Voices from the Frontlines Grantee Panel, Wednesday 9/18, 6-8PM
- Our centerpiece Annual (Virtual) Dinner, Saturday 9/26, 7-8:30PM
- Virtual Dance Party + Fund 4 the Frontlines Campaign Launch, Sunday 9/27, 1-2:30PM
We’ve decided to commit every dollar raised during our week of celebration — that would usually go to our annual fund — to the final stretch of Fund 4 the Frontlines, our campaign to grow SJF capacity and raise $2.5 million for grassroots base-building grants.
We’re able to do this thanks to your incredible support over the past few months; it’s because of our SJF community that we can focus on moving even more money to grantees, at a time when it matters more than ever.

Centerpiece event – Annual (Virtual) Dinner: We’re happy to welcome you to an hour of reflection, connection, building, and giving at our Annual (Virtual) Dinner. With host and former board member Joaquin Yu and special guest Judith Heilman from the Montana Racial Equity Project we’re set to have an engaging hour. Reconnect in breakout rooms with your virtual table, feel transported by radical performances, hear how SJF has funded movement work this year, and be inspired by movement leaders in the region.

Voices from the Frontlines Grantee Panel: Hear from four incredible grantees of the Fund 4 the Frontlines campaign. Representatives of WA-BLOC, WA Immigrant Solidarity Network, Portland African American Leadership Forum, and UTOPIA are coming together to speak on their work, the power of base-building, and their plans for the next five years.

Virtual Dance Party + Fund 4 the Frontlines Campaign Launch: Join us for an afternoon virtual dance party, and the public phase launch of our Fund 4 the Frontlines campaign! Groove to music with your SJF community and celebrate the public launch of our biggest EVER campaign, created to grow the breadth and depth of grassroots organizing in our region for the long haul.
